Main research interests

My doctoral dissertation examined the social construction of artistic value in the Italian photography art world. Through a combination of theoretical approaches and a constructivist grounded theory methodology, I gained insight into the power of social practices and aesthetic discourses in shaping what is considered valuable and important.

Building on this experience, I'm now exploring the datafication of childhood. I'm particularly interested in understanding the ways in which children's lives are being transformed by the increasing data-intensive environments they grow up in, and the interplay between the social, material, and data-related practices that shape these experiences.

The connections between my research interests in the social construction of artistic value and the datafication of childhood are crucial. By combining insights from both fields, I aim to shed light on the ways in which data practices and technologies are influenced by larger social and cultural norms and values.
